I’ve been staring at this bloom thinking how perfect it is and wanting to shoot it. But it was growing behind our rabbit wire fence and no way to do that. So it became a cut flower for the kitchen by way of my FotodioX box.

Very nice, Steve. That black background really highlights this beautiful flower.

Thanks, Pete. I started with a white background for the high key effect but decided black worked better.

Pristine’s the word for your jolt of yellow.

That’s true. And I was surprised that this flower was still so pristine after being in bloom all week. Talk about a long-lasting flower.

With such an absolutely perfect daff?!

It’s so perfect, it almost looks artificial — in a good way. It reminds me of the glass flower collection at Harvard.

I know and it has lasted that way for so long. I’ve been looking at it all week and finally decided to capture it for posterity. I had to choose between white or black for the background and the black just made it pop.

I can never see a daffodils without Wordsworths poem running through my mind, it was one of my father’s favourite poems also.
You’ve done it full justice Steve. If only they had a perfume…..
