Just down at the end of the driveway looking up our street.
Two images. One exposed for the moon and one for the sky. Otherwise just a moon in a black sky which was not what I was seeing.

I love it! Gorgeous shot.

That’s one big happy full moon.

We were both very happy. It’s interesting how large it is as it crests the horizon, then shrinks rising in the sky, only to become huge again whilst setting.

As you might guess, I had a few nicknames growing up, Gringold being one of them.

Wow, great composite, Steve. We took a walk up the hill to get a good, clear view, but this is much better!

Thanks, Eliza. I’d have preferred not having to composite but that just doesn’t work. I think standing atop a hill would have been a lot of fun.

Wonderful shot. I thought you might have intended to call it “Full Warm Moon” until I looked it up and am now enlightened. Have you seen any new emerging earthworms?

Thanks, Gary. No, I haven’t seen worms yet, but with the days warming the Earth, and the moon 🙂 , I think they should be showing up soon.

It’s a wonderful combination, Steve. Plus I learned something new … never heard of a ‘Worm Moon’ before now. Thank you for the enlightenment 🙂

Thanks, Pete. Many of our full moon names come from the Native American customs so a Worm Moon might be more an continental thing.

Nice Steve! Like the clouds and detail in the foreground!

Thanks, Reed. There are literally thousands of full moon shots every month. I always try for something different when I can.

Beautiful, especially with the prismatic clouds.

The color was similar to a moon a while back shining though some clouds with a rainbow or prismatic appearance. Much more enjoyable than a blank dark sky. Thanks, Mike.

Absolutely. Black dark skies are boring.

Excellent … I love this image! I like how you composed it and what you included in the frame.

Thanks, Denise. I’ve tried a few different ways to look at this over the years as every once in a while the moon rises over the end of our street. I think the long end of the zoom pulls the moon closer and still allows for some framing. Very glad you like this.

Wow – the context of clouds and woods brings it all home. 🙂
