Ok, the nuclei aren’t exact copies.  🙂  I guess bubbles form in many ways.

This is from the nice time I had at Dean Brook two weeks ago.  It’ll be a while before I am out again.  Hopefully by mid-month. One of the bright notes from this…I’ve only been eating my basic meals so have lost a little pudge.  I’ll try to keep that up once I’m out on the world on my own again.

  1. Another excellent macro icescape.
I’m glad to hear things are looking up for you.

  2. Gorgeous image. Keep on trucking. It is a way to lose weight; not the best way to lose weight – but still…

I’m proud of my pudge and don’t want to lose too much. This definitely looks like Cell Division. I think they opened for The Who once.

Hehe…have you got a secret lab where you’re breeding ice monsters, Steve? Maybe it’s a way to combat global warming. Love all the detail in the image! 🙂

    • I have thought about setting a tub of water outside, Ann. It wouldn’t be nearly as interesting though. I’d have to have rotting organics at the bottom and figure out a way to propel the water. Would be handy though. Maybe Ice Monsters will form to repel our warming the atmosphere some day. 🙂

In that bottom portion, are those long, thin lines twigs, or some other sort of debris? Or are they perhaps bubble trails that have frozen as the bubbles were rising? Or bubble trails being formed as the ice is melting? I haven’t a clue, but they’re intriguing.

I’m glad you’re feeling better. As for that weight business, every time I get flat on the ground to take a photo, it occurs to me that getting a few pounds off would make it easier to get up. Once I’m upright again, I seem to forget about that. I need to pay more attention.

    • I’d say they were The Traveling Wilbubbles. Maybe there were slight fractures in the ice and tiny bubbles filled them. Or possibly the gas froze slowly and as a bit froze small bubble escaped temporarily. Or….maybe neither of us has a clue. 😉

It’s up to or down 10+ pounds now. Each day is up and down, yesterday being awful but today better. We switched from doxycycline to prednisone which seems to be a better med for this…so far. I am the same way. At a moment when the extra weight is a hindrance like hiking up out of the Quabbin…or I see fit people out exercising…I am determined to do something. That resolve disappears pretty quickly once the possibility of donuts pops up.

I love the Wilburys so much I doubled up on their first release. Redundancy is a good thing, especially since there won’t be any new Wilburys releases.

I laughed about the donuts. I have a feeling it’s a good thing you don’t live in Czech kolache territory. I keep trying to forget the lady and her mother who produce the real thing only a couple of miles from me.

      • Yep. Tough to do when you’re missing three members. One was bad enough. The rocking chair is quite poignant.

My downfall is the country market I pass on the way to work each day. Biggest and best donuts along with a bunch of others like cinnamon buns. Hopefully you don’t drive by the kolache ladies every day.

No, I go in the other direction. And by the time I might pass by, she’s usually closed. They bake every morning, and when the goodies are gone, they close for the day. I’ve seen them closed as early as 10 a.m.

I laughed at the donuts too – cold weather is the worst time to try to lose weight. Hope you’re feeling much better now.
