09.27.2019 It’s that day again

I hadn’t planned on another Frog Friday quite yet, but this little guy showed up at our back door last night and was such a cutie that I had no choice but to make a couple of images.

He was so accommodating.  I knelt for the first one, but then lay down for the second with my elbow leaning on one of the steps.

I was sorry I didn’t have some flies to thank him for being such a patient model. To paraphrase Lyle Lovett, “they just don’t come no better than a frog.”  🙂

  1. We can see that you were lower for the second shot than for the first. That raises the question of whether you’ve ever found a frog at the edge of something high enough for you to get a picture aiming upward.

Perhaps the word’s passed among the frogs that if they show up on Thursday, they can be featured on Friday. I’d love to find frogs at my door, but I have to content myself with lizards and cicada killers. I’m certainly glad you have frogs — they always make me smile.

    • Being a bug fan, I’d be happy with a few cicada killers but they don’t seem to visit our neighborhood which is understandable since I’ve yet to hear a cicada here.
What surprised us more than the frog’s presence was Bentley paying it no mind. He came close to grabbing a toad once which could have made him quite sick so one would think he’d have some interest in a small bullfrog. Happily for us all, but most especially the frog, he didn’t.

  4. So meet a frog and take him out to lunch with you.
Even though your friends may stop and stare…

  6. Good ole Lyle Lovett and his song. I don’t know if I ever heard the song about the frog, but Lovett had some pretty crazy/weird lyrics. I just love your frog photos. All of the frogs in your posts seem to have been such happy frogs and very willing subjects too. This is one is so handsome too- just like the other frogs that you have captured. Of course I have no idea if frogs or can be happy or not

    • The song is about bears, I just changed it for my subject. But maybe he has one about frogs also.
We do have a tendency to give animals our own feelings and thoughts. No way to really know but we have our pets to go on and they sure do have those attributes.
