I am a Nature Photographer with interests in all things related. Water, flowers, insects and fungi are my main interests but I am happy to photograph wildlife and landscapes and all other of Nature's subjects.
Both the light and the arrangement of the lily’s petals make that frog’s eye really “pop.” If it weren’t for that eye, he’d be well camouflaged; his color’s remarkably similar to the lily pad in the upper right.
I watched him for a while hoping to see the tongue flash out and nab a tasty insect. Hopefully he did not go hungry but I did not get to witness that explosive fly catcher. Maybe the flies could see his eye..
Keep an eye on the prize. I really like the frog pics and this one is a winner too, Nothing beats “the eye of the frog.” This photo brought to mind “the eye of the tiger. ” I can not think of the name of the of the group that sings that refrain but it is glues into my brain.
Excellent habits.

Itโs nice to see a frog who knows how to dress up. Iโm guessing itโs headed to Saratoga for the races.

Yes, that’s quite the boutonniere. When I was a kid we headed to Saratoga for the spring water.

My would-be encounters with frogs are often a splashback and therefore I can’t do a flashback.

Yes, I imagine there would be some blowback in those cases.

Thatโs quite a display. The image really lacks a Trillium but never mind.

He really needs a much bigger lily to hide behind! ๐

Hopefully there were a lot of near-sighted flies.
