06.17.2019 Early to Bed Early to Rise

I’m not sure about adages, but early to rise does get the dawn landscape. The camera’s sensor can’t get the shadows and the sky in one shot, so this is a three image combination of exposures (HDR).   A cloud bank to the east initially turned my attention to the north which is often the case at this location.

The wisps were welcome additions in the valleys. If you recognize this composition that would be because I have probably posted a dozen images from here.  There is something satisfying about the familiar.

Whatever the reality, it looks cool and refreshing. Steve thought the wisps looked like fire, but they remind me of the steam coming up from our factory stacks and cooling tanks on a nice, crisp morning.
