06.08.2019 Reflections of Chaos

Here is another image from my trip to Pepper’s Mill Pond back on May 13th.

A good general rule of thumb is to simplify one’s compositions.  But it’s also good to occasionally embrace the chaos, especially on a day with still water.

About Steve Gingold

I am a Nature Photographer with interests in all things related. Water, flowers, insects and fungi are my main interests but I am happy to photograph wildlife and landscapes and all other of Nature's subjects.

  1. It’s a bit like a symphony where the full range of frequencies are heard. This also has an interesting mix of frequencies which, if taken together are very pleasant.

It looks as though Nature found a box of Pick-Up-Sticks and tossed them across the landscape — an impression that the reflections magnify. From that perspective, it looks more challenging than chaotic.

  3. Nice going. This is a good example of “more is more” and of “two for the price of one.”

With the still water the symmetry of the reflections is just perfect. Makes for some interesting patterns, and I think the scattered patches of color really adds to it. Very nice composition, Steve.
