04.16.2019 Another Roaring Falls Cascade

There is more to Roaring Falls than a few cascades, but often I find that focusing on the details of the whole can be rewarding. I made a video with my phone of the whole spot I visited, I think there is a bit more upstream, but had trouble with a Lightroom workflow for editing video.Β  I’ll keep at it and post that one way or another.Β  Quite an enjoyable sound.

Lovely to see the different phases of the falls. Reminds me of wedding gowns with huge veils like this one http://queensconsortofengland.blogspot.com/2016/07/royal-weddings-queen-silvia-as-mother.html

  2. It’s a rare morning when we’ve shown pictures of the same thing, a modest but rushing waterfall, even if our shutter speeds differ.

  3. I think the tradition came from stunning beauty. The word is β€œstunning.” This is a perfect bridal veil falls at any rate, beautifully done.

I especially like the way the water’s divided into three parts: the very small flow at the top, the body of the falls, and the smooth splashing at the bottom. For me, it adds interest to the smoothed water.

It reminded me of the back of a wedding dress, too!
