Bentley is not often a willing poser so this was a treat for him to sit so quietly for a portrait.  We bought the chair he is on for him.  The previous was a typical tall wing chair and he would scramble over the back to get in the window even though there is a table, also dedicated to beagle paws, for access to the view.  He doesn’t bark nearly as much as all our others who were affectionately tabbed “bugles” for the howling.

He is so friendly which we appreciate so much after poor Murphy was afraid of other humans.  He greets our neighbors when we walk and asks for pats and scratches which most willingly give him.  Sweet little guy.  ❤

What a great portrait. He looks like the strong, silent type — as well as being one I’d want to pet immediately. It’s nice to think that he’d allow it.

Lovely. I’m glad you’re enjoying your companion so much. An older beagle caught me out at customs – such a sweetie he was, but when he sniffed my bag he alerted the handler and I got into trouble. 🙂 Not a big deal, just a mistake, and I had no problem getting rid of the offensive item, some fruit from lunch on the plane I thought I would eat later. Funny. But oh, I could NOT be mad at the beagle!

    • One of the famous “Beagle Brigade” that tours the airports. 🙂 They have a remarkable sense of smell. I do think they serve a better purpose sniffing out threats of violence but I guess the wrong fruit could wreak havoc on our produce production. Just doing what a beagle does. Maybe he was hungry too, they always are. 🙂
