Yet more Dean Brook icy goodness. There are so many interesting cascades along this brook. Depending on when you visit, it changes its appearance almost on a daily basis.  The more one visits a spot like this, the number of opportunities actually grow.  So many ways to see things and, with the constant change that is nature, it is hard not to find something new to amaze oneself.

Is it my imagination, or is that branch reaching out from the left side of the photo encased in ice? It certainly looks like it, and it’s an interesting touch. The slabs of ice bottom left are interesting, too.
It looks like there are some of your pendants hanging down from them as well.

    • Yes, part of the branch is encased. I don’t remember if it was broken and just lying there or if the ice was making it droop. Probably the former. And, yes, there are pendants although a bit on the short side.

  2. I wonder how many other people are as enchanted (obsessed?) by patterns and details as we nature photographers are.

    • I would guess that most nature artists (which, of course, includes photographers although maybe not folks who do abstracts) are quite obsessed with the details, patterns and colors of nature.

  3. It sounds like a dumb comment, but this shot really has a great chilly feel to it, and the ice has done an admirable job, nice pearly sort of formation.

    • Not dumb at all. Sometimes ice has a cool tone and other times not so much, even if in monochrome. And I don’t get all that many comments, so even if it was “dumb” I’d still appreciate and respect it. 🙂
