02.20.2019 The Holyokes from Quabbin Hill

With sunrise over my shoulder, the Belt of Venus and the earth’s shadow make for a colorful sky.

The Holyoke Mountain Range is one of a very few that are aligned east-west.

Wow, that is absolutely beautiful Steve. Living oil the prairies fro the last 50+ years, I have really come to appreciate the horizontal patterns in landscape.

Please take me off your list thank you! Good luck with your photography!

    • I am not sure I am able to remove you. But if you no longer wish to receive notifications of my posts you can click the “Reader” icon in the upper left and when you see my blog listed unclick “following” or choose unsubscribe, I guess. I haven’t done that in a while.

  3. If you titled your photograph “Horizontal” no one would dispute you, given how strongly that orientation comes across.

You know I love this. Last week, I was going over a high bridge at just the right time and saw a hint of this effect at sunset, across the bay. It was just as lovely. It was good to read your off-handed comment about uphill puffing, too. It seems that your endurance is continuing to improve.

    • Steve’s suggestion of another title and your comment made me think I should rename it Belt and Shadow. I am glad that you get to see the combination there as well.
Yes, the stamina is improving although lately work has tired me more than I expected. All part of the recovery process… and the advancing years…just made it to 71 the other day. I’ll be glad when there is no more snow removal for a while. Give me enough time and I’ll complain about the heat.
