Sunday saw my first photo foray, albeit an easy and quick one. Although not in the depths of winter’s chill, I am susceptible to the cold generally and even more so as a result of the virus…encephalitis actually. But for the most part I am recovering well and maybe even a little ahead of schedule.
I made this image literally standing at the back of my car. No hike or backpack required.
Full Cold Moon setting into The Belt of Venus over Hadley, MA from Moody Bridge Road.
I am looking forward to my next time, although the cold might make that in May. 🙂
Happy Holidays to all. It’ll be a quiet few days for us, but I hope however you celebrate will be joyous and lead to a great 2019.
It must feel good to get back out there, even for a short time. I hope you have a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year, Steve. I’m looking forward to seeing more next year.

We’ve had clear skies here for a few days, so I’ve been watching that glorious moonset, too. It’s even better now that I know you were able to get out and enjoy it. I suspect an occasional foray will only aid your recovery. Happy holidays to you, and every good wish for the New Year.

Thanks so much, Linda. It was much better getting out somewhere for a more interesting view than from my backyard. All the best for you in 2019 and I hope your Christmas was enjoyable.

Thanks, Ann. As there is improvement with each day, there is also growing strength, albeit slightly, each day too. At 70 everything seems to happen a bit more slowly. 🙂

The car is fine – at least you got out, even if only to walk around to the back of it! 🙂 It must have felt very good to be photographing outdoors again. It makes sense that you’d be susceptible to cold; I know you’ll be careful. It’s been very rainy and gray here for weeks, with just a few sunbreaks now and then. Sometimes there are cloudy days when it’s easier to get out, but yesterday it rained all day so I drove around a point that sticks into the water, pulled over, rolled down the window, and took some pictures. Then I tried a few from behind the windshield and two came out great – blurry but nice in an impressionistic way. You never know!! I hope you find some good work-arounds too.

I didn’t mind being next to the car at all. Ansel Adams shot by and atop his car often enough so no excuses needed, right? 🙂
Shooting through rain drop covered glass sounds pretty cool. I am now getting more adventurous and visited my favorite little waterfall. I think work arounds can expand our vision. I should follow your lead, eh? 🙂

I’ve gotten some nice results shooting through the car window in the rain. 🙂 Might as well try it, nothing to lose. So glad you’re able to get out more!
