I am a Nature Photographer with interests in all things related. Water, flowers, insects and fungi are my main interests but I am happy to photograph wildlife and landscapes and all other of Nature's subjects.
Absolutely remarkable. If we count the moon as yellow, you have all the colors of a rainbow: albeit not in order, and arranged horizontally. Who needs a green flash when you can have a green stripe?
You’ve produced so many beautiful sunrise and moonset photos, but this has to be my favorite, partly because it’s so beautiful and partly because it’s so — odd. I’ve never seen anything like this.
I have never seen a green flash despite all the times I have watched the sun rise above the horizon. Wish I would.
It is unusual and as I processed it I thought about adjusting the colors to something a bit more like what one would expect. But it is so different and I am glad I left it as it was. The color and light remind me a little of Hokusai paintings.
I know I’ve seen this scene here….another thing that makes this version work so well, I think, is the silhouetted trees – their dark filigreed outline complements the colors.

This is splendid. Perhaps print this one. The fog in the lower elevations give it a look of a beautiful calm.

It’s quite beautiful, and otherworldly with all those colors.

Thanks, Lynn. I’ve shot this view a few times but never with anything like this light.

I had considered going HDR but any additional light in the foreground I felt would diminish the impact of the sky.
