The east was rather blocked in, but not so the north.

  2. A lovely scene to brighten anyone’s morning. Several layers of color, each different. It is amazing how sunrise affects the clouds. No two are ever the same. Mornings are glorious and I can see why you get up at 4am to approach each day with a new quest for beauty.

    • You never can be entirely sure what will happen. Sometimes the sun lights the undersides and then there is no more light. Sometimes it lights the undersides of the higher clouds but not the lower. Sometimes you don’t see any color until just as the sun breaks the horizon. It always pays to wait and see what develops. I like getting up that early and that started as a kid with a paper route. Of course, the other day Bentley got me up at 2:30 to go out and that was happy for me. 🙂

I remember you mentioned your east/west mountains when we were talking about the Ouachitas. It is great to have options when the clouds don’t cooperate the way you’d like. The combination of colors is delightful; I do love a little lavender in the mix.
