Not bad for the tiny SX-60.
I tried for Mars also, but it was small enough that the camera couldn’t pick it out for focus.
For anyone who noticed, I typo-ed the date but edited it after the fact.

Not bad, at all!

I got the same image with my SX60.
I’ve done Mars before. It required shooting RAW and manual focus to infinity. It was a sphere with an orange hue. No detail of course. https://photos.app.goo.gl/Qfty7L3qomFM4eq77

That’s pretty much what Mars looked like in my attempts too. It actually looked better with the naked eye.

Love the detail.

It does surprisingly well for a little camera. Absolutely has to be on a tripod when “racked” out to 1365mm…equivalent, of course.

You mean it doesn’t have 10 stops of image stabilization built in?

Even if it did that wouldn’t be enough for my shaky hands.

I don’t have a clue what the SX60 is other than it is a camera. I’ll hop over to Google and have a look. Sure seems to be a good one which proves the camera’s worth in this photo.

By now I am sure you’ve identified the camera, Yvonne. I got it pretty much to be able to do this without buying a 6000 dollar lens which would still need cropping. It comes in handy for Bentley shots as well. 🙂

Yes, I read about it and seems to be a very nice camera. I saw that it has 16mp and that is good for a camera of that price range. Your pics are sharp too.
