Good to be able to rely on something staid and steady these days.

    • Those trees are quite a popular subject. Then you have a few moments of skies like this and it is a splendid spot. I only know of one other photographer who shoots sunrises here but I have never had company. Even passing cars don’t stop.

I like the criss-crossed effect in the clouds. I can’t quite decide if it’s rays providing the effect, or wind disturbing the clouds, but it’s lovely, and more dynamic than many sunrise photos. The sense of movement’s an especially nice contrast to the fog.

    • I am pretty sure it’s a little upper atmosphere disturbance. At first I found it bothersome because it somewhat resembles the effect a plane would have had or, even worse, that I had messed with something there and created artifacts. But it is indeed real. I am glad all the action was in the clouds which allowed for the fog to just sit there adding some ground level atmosphere.

  5. A beautiful sky with fog floating above ground and three trees that stand as guardians of the land. Does not get better than this because the land was saved by citizens. Marvelous!
