Although the view seems a bit cold, and it was chilly for sure, this is how March 20 began here in Western Massachusetts. The snow is melting quickly as we have had several 40° to almost 50° days in a row. Some chill is returning tomorrow for a couple of days but then it will be warm up time again. As with most of us, I’ve had enough winter for a while and am quite eager for the return of spring ephemerals and green landscapes.
That said, this was a lovely start to a chilly day that warmed up well into the afternoon. Mount Monadnock in the distance from Enfield Lookout in Quabbin Park.
The promise is evident in that sky!

That’s what I assumed but I wanted to make sure.

This view is one of my favorites and I visit it often. I am hoping the next visit will have more green than white.

The gold could be all the warmth and beauty of spring, spreading out over the hills.I like the way the trees seem to be standing up on tippy-toe, just waiting.

I was fortunate that they are so still as it was a breezy morning. The warm sky was pleasant although it didn’t lessen the chill in the air where I was…probably not atop Monadnock either. 🙂

The snow in the foreground and then the beginning of the trees makes this pic beautiful. I like this one. And I might add that it appears to be very cold there.

Thanks, Yvonne. Yes, cold it was…breezy too. I usually don’t notice it while I am shooting but once I stop, my fingers start complaining. 🙂

This just looks cold, especially from a May perspective. Chill beauty.
