Most often I arrive places well in advance of the light, but this morning I was dragging my feet and didn’t get out of the house until 6:20, only a few minutes prior to sunrise. I could see lavender building on the undersides of the clouds and, without much time to go anywhere else, I rushed to a favorite location in Hadley, which has been posted here before, and was just in time for the light show.
Awesome sky. As I made a few more exposures I decided to move in closer and fill the frame with the trees in their flaming glory.
No doubt, had I headed in any other direction I’d have been too late…witnessed but not captured is still a worthy experience…but captured is better. 🙂

I think I think it was the first photo when I commented on FB. But, I going to use the same descriptions or similar) that I used on FB to describe my thoughts here. It’s dazzling, spectacular, stunning, stupendous, fabulous, and I think, absolutely brilliant that you put the trees in the pic so that the eyes can truly focus on the beauty of this scene. I love this photo and for sure, you must include this one in your next exhibit.

I’m especially fond of the second photo. The detail that captured me wasn’t the sky (compelling though it is), it was that second line of four trees, echoing the three in the foreground. What a beautiful way to start a day.

I have featured these trees in the past and the combination of three in a row and four also has always been the main attraction for me in this location. Sunrises and fog have been what seemed to be the subject, but the trees are what holds it together.

wow! I see I’m echoing other’s sentiment here 🙂 The first shot looks almost exactly like an image I tried to paint last year but it just didn’t work as a painting but it sure works as a photo!
