Oh so tough! 😀

Rising at 4 a.m. is getting tough, Ann. But someone’s got to do it, eh?

Indeed. Because you certainly wouldn’t get sunrise photos out of the likes of me. 😀

How about sunsets? 🙂

Sunsets I could manage.

Nice. Is it as quiet as it looks to be up there?

For the most part. This spot is only 100 or so feet from U.S. Rte. 202 and as sunrise gets later the traffic increases. More often I’ll just hear coyotes, turkeys or the sound of a nearby brook below the lookout.

Sorry you had to tolerate that start to your day.

It’s about a 30 minute ride, so I had plenty of time to steel myself for the onslaught.

The tough part is getting up in time to be there for the moment. I’ve done it many times, but it’s getting tougher and tougher. Thanks for the renewed inspiration!

Too bad you couldn’t add an excerpt from Liebestod that folks could hear when they click on your photo.

I am sure there is a way to do that, but I have not taken the time to look into adding music.

Actually, I could just find a YouTube video and have folks click it before scrolling down to the image.

It is getting more difficult, indeed. But…as the earth rotates it is getting a bit easier each week. Eventually I will be rising and waiting around until the time arrives to leave. And it will also be a bit chillier. It was really tough when I would go to Acadia in June for sunrise on Cadillac Mountain which is known as the earliest spot in the continental U.S.

I’m quite happy to leave that sort of adventure to you, and equally happy to wait to see what you can do with your persistence and perseverance. I have done my share, and I know what it takes. Too bad the tough stuff gets ever harder to manage.

Although it is getting to be more of a challenge, I can’t let it slow me down…well, I am slower, but I’m not grinding to a halt any time soon-I hope. 🙂

Just 6 weeks away, Andrew. Time flies but I am not having as much fun as one would think.

No one else has mentioned the two boulders; they’re what I saw first and what grabbed me when I looked at the photograph.

I’ve often shot here sans boulders. But they appeared here recently also.

I’ve been waiting for you to throw in some rocks er I mean boulders. Love those big rocks and because they make me happy for you have rocked this picture. It’s gorgeous.

A few rocks always make a nice addition and I am glad you enjoyed these two, Yvonne. Thank you.

I remembered the rocks from your previous post. It’s interesting how, in each photo, the sky and the clouds seem to fit together. The heavy, somewhat leaden clouds, the band of shadowed trees, and the dark rocks hold the image together nicely.

I think that the combination of elements here is what brings me back repeatedly, Linda. There is more behind this scene, but that would bring in the parking circle which I don’t think really adds much. I have to rely on the atmospherics for variation.such as this old shot.
