The white water lily flower exhibited a bit of surface tension at the end of one petal. Here is a water lily pad that is giving two great examples of that phenomenon.
I found two pads like this with the water amulet held at the center. I was just totally taken by the beauty inside and out with the collected water in the center and the slightly rippled effect around the edge of the leaf.
Just lovely. I see molten glass. It reminds me very much of some oriental sculptures I’ve seen.

Thanks, Gary. It also reminds me of some iridescent glass my grandmother had.

I don’t think so, Ann. It was some kind of opalescent glass with rust and green hues.

Beautiful clarity, light, and composition. Such a crispness here, but also a golden warmth and glow at the same time. Very soothing to contemplate.

Also an option but I wouldn’t wear it.

The dictionary that I looked in defines amulet as “an ornament or small piece of jewelry thought to give protection against evil, danger, or disease.” Let’s hope the liquid jewel does that for you.

That was my thinking. It already has as I received a lovely image for my time there..

The leaf has the heaviness and sheen of a good satin — making it the perfect foil for the jewel that others have seen. I’m especially taken with the way the weight of the water inside has depressed the center of the leaf just a bit, allowing the light to shine more brightly around its edges.

I think that depression aids the ripple effect around the leaf edges which is part and parcel of the light. I hadn’t thought of the glare resembling satin, but you are right

Very interesting photo. Looks almost abstract to me. Beautiful effect with the water so dark.

Thanks, Yvonne. I read that you were having a difficult time in a comment you made on Linda’s blog. I hope you are doing OK in the summer heat.

Steve, thank you for your concern. The heat is the least of my worries. My only sib and older sis had a minor stroke 2 weeks ago and is now in a nursing/rehab place. I have lots of stress about my sis. Will try to email you at some point.

Thanks She is making slow progress but it is progress and now feeding herself about 90% of normal. She does not have any paralysis. Thank God for that.

As you said, progress. Some things just take time and as long as she is moving forward then things will get better.
