06.21.2016 Dawn over North Quabbin and Harris Hill

I’ve been accumulating images for a program I will be presenting at the June 27 meeting of the Quabbin Photo Group. Gathering the images is the easy part.  Opening my mouth and not embarrassing myself is another whole issue.  We’ll see how it goes starting at 7:30 p.m. at the Quabbin Visitor’s Center.

Today’s post is an image from Sunday morning in New Salem.

Nice colors. I love the morning and evening hues. Congrats on the Bentley. You’ll do fine at the event, just got to happy hour beforehand. 🙂

  2. Those are great dawn clouds you’ve recorded.

I figured you for more of a Rolls Royce sort of person, but I guess a Bentley will do.

    • We’ve had some really nice skies lately.

I have a photographer acquaintance named Royce so we could have used that name, but the little guy is coming with the Bentley moniker and we’ll stick with that.

Ah, ha. On first read, I assumed Bentley-as-car, which made no sense. Bentley-as-beagle is wonderful! I can’t wait to hear the tales and see the pics.

After all my reading about Emily Dickinson, I’ve got a much better grasp on Quabbin — and Amherst — geographically. I’d never really spent much time looking at the map and situating everything. As much as i’m learning about Amherst and environs, i’m going to feel right at home if I ever get out there. From what I’ve seen, every sunset and sunrise is an occasion.

You’ll do fine with the presentation. Just pretend you’re talking to us, here. I still remember the day I pretended to be Sophia Loren, making an entrance into a room. I can’t remember the occcasion, only that I was in high school, but I remember the nerves. Now, I just laugh at my choice of Loren as my alter ego. Generally, I was more of an Audrey Hepburn sort,

    • You probably, more like undoubtedly, have a better sense of this area than I do of Texas. Of course, I could use the excuse of Texas being so much larger in area and having so many different environments. Yeah, that’s the reason. Our sunrises/sets are pretty amazing quite often, but they can sometimes be subtle too. I am happy for each one I get to witness.

They have invited me for the images. The woman who does the invitations is acquainted with me both through Facebook and a couple of mutual friends. I will do OK, but if I start to talk too much I may ruin too long like last time. I didn’t hear any snoring.

Bentley will be my next post.
