I like this tree a lot and have photographed it before…including later in the day (the 27th and night of the eclipse which I did not witness) as the full moon rose. I am not too keen on those shots unless I decide to do a composite…we’ll see.
Trees, and plants in general, have it pretty rough along the coast. Winds, salt air and difficult winters take their toll. If the elements can move those boulders around then this tree must have experienced just a bit of stress. Not much left of it now but character.
As an aside, this was made a few minutes before my encounter with the photobombers I mentioned in yesterday’s post.
Stark beauty Steve. The tenacity of organisms to cling to life always amazes me. The little wild plant poking iut of a crack in the pavement…
Nature tells us that life is worth the struggle.

Nature always clings tenaciously to life. To live and further the species is inherent in all, although we humans seem bent on destroying ourselves. Thanks, Rod.

It’s beautiful in silhouette and that star burst is gorgeous.
Make the composite! 🙂

Thanks, Deborah. I don’t do many composites, but I did and I’ll post it tomorrow.

And yet the tree survives to stand another day!

More like a zombie, I think, Lyle. No more leaves but the frame still looks good.

Stunning image! Just gazing upon your capture of this glorious scene could be enough to make you forget the incident of the photo bombers.

I like the tree in silhouette and the barren beauty of this scene. Excellent shot.

It has an appealing starkness to it, doesn’t it, Yvonne? Thanks!

I love your perspective of the world wearing down the coast until you have the fine grain of character showing.

I’ve never thought of Acadians having a totem, but this would do perfectly well. It’s a striking photo, and thought-provoking. I like it.

Maybe not the Acadians, but the park did at one time. I am not sure why it was moved to a private campground, but it is no longer where it had been to greet us.

The silhouette gives animation to the diminished tree. Makes me think of a semaphore signaler.

I always enjoy hearing what others see beyond my own vision. This is a favorite tree and I hope it maintains for many more years but you never know along this rugged coast.

Maybe you should have bombed the photobombers.

I was hoping the gulls would take care of that, but didn’t stick around long enough to see.
