There is a spot along the Kancamagus Highway in New Hampshire that offers superb reflections of the brightly lit autumn foliage. As well, the Kanc provides great views over much of its length and is well-visited in October.

As a teenager I got interested in the Japanese board game called go, and it occurs to me now that people who play that game on a boat can be said to flow with the go.

I did a quick search of the place and am fascinated. If I’m ever up there again, this will be on my with list. Two questions, please: (1) what’s the name of the river and (2) how is the highway pronounced–does it rhyme with “thank a haggis,” “spank a Vegas,” or “bank ham with us?” Love the Native American names!

It’s the Swift River. Gary. The road is pronounced Kank uh maggus or, as you choose, thank a haggis. 🙂 It’s a beautiful spot on Earth…or rather a bunch of beautiful spots.
