We have fog yet again this morning. It’s to be expected when the temperature drops significantly overnight after a very hot day which has been the case for the past week and will continue through the next few days here. I did a preliminary shoot of a farmhouse yesterday and was disappointed that the fog had burned off by the time of my arrival.
Here is another shot from Sunday’s hike in the Quabbin. I like the overlap of land forms. Please click to see larger.
It would have been nice to have a bit of separation in the two distant shapes, but I no longer climb trees and would have needed to carry in a tall ladder.
Love the misty, foggy scenes. I like the composition on this one, with the “spit” jutting out into the lake.

Thanks, Yvonne. It’s a good thing I like the fog lately. So many warm days and cool nights. I saw this from a distance and stumbled over a lot of rocks to get to this perspective. It was worth it.

Not climbing trees any more Steve? I thought we were supposed to suffer for our art. What’s the odd broken limb between friends? Although actually I think it looks just fine as it is. Beautifully tranquil.

Oh, I suffer plenty, Andrew. Still have both ears though. I’ve made it through life with just a few odd broken bones in my right foot and aim to keep it that way…or at least not tempt fate. And then there is the acrophobia.

The ripples caught my eye immediately. They may be my favorite element in the photo. And I’m struck by the spits of land. They look like interlocking fingers.

That interlocking was my first attraction, Linda. But I also like that there were the slight ripples. I did some long exposure shots to smooth them out, but their inclusion is a plus for me also. Thanks.

I am in harmony with shoreacres. Eloquent serenity not disturbed, but enhanced, by the delicate ripples. This piece is a meditation.

I have been trying to create images that encourage contemplation so I am glad you see the meditative quality in this, Gary. I don’t always achieve that goal…certainly not with the bug shots.

I think the image is perfect…The days of tree climbing have long passed.

I like the sound of perfect, Charlie. Yeah, I don’t even like climbing mountains much less trees.
