08.04.2015 Enfield Lookout a few minutes later

Light can change rapidly in the early morning.  This west view was made just a short while after yesterday’s image looking to the north.  I liked that the top of the trees were just kissed by the warm sunrise light with nice clouds in the distance.  A lovely start to a very nice day.

The first thing that crossed my mind was, “My gosh, this must be glorious in autumn.” It’s pretty glorious as it is. I’m struck again by how much difference it makes when you have hills around to catch the rising or falling light. I’d get up and out to see something like this, myself. It’s beautiful.

    • I’ve only shot there once in recent years during the autumn. The full moon was still high in the sky this past weekend but hanging around way to the left of these images and not at all a good composition.
The reason I get out so early is the combination of rising light and low-lying fogs that fill the valleys…along with the still clean air. It’s rare that I am out at the other end of the day.

Are some of your trees turning colors? That seems early if they are.
