08.02.2015 Monadnock Dawn

I’ve photographed Monadnock from this viewpoint often over the years.  I’ve only seen it with alpenglow once and this quiet simple view seems to be what I am meant to see.  Some fog in the valleys and a soft light above.

I like the layering of each more distant feature. It must be viewed large for the best effect. Excellent exposure and composition. One of your best, imho. 🙂

  4. Steve, this is quite lovely. Each elevation has different depth of color. I like the overall variation of the light and hue changes.

I may be seeing a layer that isn’t there, but there certainly are at least eight, and maybe nine. The detail generally is wonderful. Not only that, the color of the sky is almost exactly the color of my 6th grade graduation dress. Some things just stick with a person.

    • I count eight unless you want to include the sky, then there are nine. I am glad that this evokes a memory from your younger days, Linda. You have so many more memories than I…it’s all just a blur for me. Maybe it will all come back to me in dementia some day. 🙂
