07.20.2015 Northeast Street Dawn

The morning was very ground foggy in most places and the sun was blocked.  But the air cleared in this one stretch of Northeast Street yielding an interesting sky.  Not a lot of color, but I like the general atmosphere here of peace and quiet.

  4. When I navigated over to this post, at first only the clouds portion of the image was visible, and I found that it was a nice pastel space-filling abstraction in its own right. The image worked just as well after I scrolled down and added the darker part at the bottom.

    • When I upload to the dashboard I only get to see the top of the image and noticed that the sky could stand on its own too. As with an earlier post, I like the sense of the much larger sky working with the land.

  5. Beautiful. I like the foggy scenes that create the beginning for a serene day. Hopefully. 🙂

    • I was hoping to find this combination when I left the house but was about to give up and return home and the chores when this appeared over the farm, Yvonne. It actually was a very nice, although hot and humid, day.

I agree with you about that “big sky” and the land complementing each other so well. And the delicacy of the clouds is really something. We sometimes see such feathery ones, and whenever I do come across them, I always stop to admire. But we’re in the cumulus season now, so it’s a treat to see these.

    • That was a great sky…there’s another interpretation coming soon to a screen near you…and we will still see our share of them. Not last night, though, as we had a front come through preceded by some beautiful storm cumuli. There was rain to the north of us and rain to the south of us, but the radar showed the storm splitting and we didn’t get any rain here in Happy Valley.
