Catching up again on old folders. Here is another from the nice sunrise on June 13.
Not sure what to expect from our weather over the next three days. I may actually catch up on all my old folders if the forecast is accurate. Hopefully I can fit a little image making in between the showers at some point.
A glorious sunrise for sure. It looks like it was painted with a palette knife.

It was a wonderful thing to see, Gary. This was just a few moments after the sun broke the horizon behind the cloud bank as you may be able to tell by the intense brightness in the clouds at the left. The exposure was just long enough to allow a bit of cloud movement for that effect.

It’s interesting that the composition seems to make the colours better. Is that possible?

It’s a combination of changing light and slightly different processing, Lyle. I think I went a bit overboard with the previous.

This is special Steve. Very soft colours, not over-saturated. Gorgeous.

Actually, it was the manager’s idea, Andrew. Why fight it?

The color of the clouds is astounding and seem to be on fire. Nothing as beautiful as a sunrise. Marvelous capture, Steve.

Thank you, Yvonne. It is such a fine way to start a day…but then any day that we wake up is a good day, no? 🙂

The colors are beautiful, but the composition is what does it for me. Without the trees, it would be a beautiful sky. With them, there’s a wick for all that fire.

Interesting metaphor, Linda. They are pretty large trees when you get right to them but composed this way, with the choice of lens, my idea was to make them seem small in the total landscape. And a sky like this just has to be seen big.
