02.16.2015 A little winter escape

I was just going through a bunch of images for the submission and came across this one.  I am not thinking of entering it, although I think there may be a frog involved, but thought it would bring a smile in the middle of winter.

Bullfrog-on-Lotus-Pad-800FB-BlogThis little bullfrog was just sitting in the middle of the lotus leaf.  I suppose I could have asked him to move a scoch to his left.  🙂

  3. Now, I would classify that as a ‘delightful’ image. What a lucky coincidence that you should find the obliging amphibian in just that pose.

  6. That is one pretty frog that was just begging for you to take its picture. This is so cute and the colors so summery or spring like.

What a sweetie. And isn’t it true that frogs generally seem to be smiling? It’s interesting that all of the greens aren’t quite “green.” Is it the sky’s reflection that gaves the lotus leaf that slightly blue-green cast? I like it. Because none of the greens are expected, it adds a lot of interest.

    • This was several years ago, but you are probably correct about the sky reflected in the moister parts of the pad, Linda.
I do think they are always smiling, but if not, they always bring a smile to my face just the same.

Anything that can generate a warm smile at this time of year is well worth the effort. Count mine among the growing list, please. As often happens at this time of year, I find myself reflecting back on warmer times, too. A most worthy and rewarding pastime!
