The other day, Steve S. wondered if Erotica would be next up from me. I don’t have too much that would qualify, but there is this…..Making sure the night will have firefly lights (Photuris sp.)
Spotted Thyris moths ( Thyris maculata)
Stylogaster flies (Stylogaster neglecta)
And a couple of very acrobatic Soldier Beetles (Podabrus rugosulus)
Insects of the world unite

I would be very interested to know how the title to this post influences hits from Google searches that use the term. Good luck with that.

I might get hate mail from a bunch of disappointed Google-ites looking for dirty pictures.

Because I’ve posted about a native plant called zexmenia, every year I get a bunch of hits from people searching for “sex mania.” I’ve imagined how let down they are when they get taken to a page about botany, but so far no one has posted a hate-mail-style comment.

None here yet either, Steve. Search engine terms only show one…moth patterns… for yesterday and slightly higher than average visits. Hard to tell.

Funny you should say that, Andrew. In posting for FAA, there is a check box for just that question. I guess WP doesn’t have such worries.

You mean having sex in public, Ben? In front of a photographer? Oh my. 🙂

Oh how my thought of youngsters backing into each other and calling it sex has been construed to lude public acts with photographers 😉

That’s the idea, Lyle. Keep ’em guessin’. Just a public service to be sure folks know that bugs have feelings too.

Perhaps the original spelling of the now-common term “insects” had only one letter instead of the final three, and it somehow was lost in the hustle to familiarize people with why they are so prolific and ubiquitous. After all, in the end, love conquers all.
