Happy-2015This is from a few years back.  I just wish we had snow like this now.

I went out this morning….14°F….hoping for a sunrise shot on Mount Pollux.  All the parking spaces were taken and I had to find another plan.  I think there may have been a sunrise service of some sort there.  I’ll try again this weekend.  I hurried over to Owens Pond and tried to find a different perspective.  We’ll see.  The equipment is warming up in the bag.

The ice is starting to improve and I think by this weekend there should be some nice abstract possibilities.  In the meantime, have a great New Year’s Day all!  🙂

Heh…not everyone lets their equipment return to room temp first.

It has been a quiet day. Went for a walk after lunch. Bright and sunny but breezy. Very quiet on the two construction sites with holiday.

    Keep snapping those photos.

Not many people are hoping for ice, Steve but I wish you as much as you need for your abstracts. May 2015 be good to you and Mary Beth. Best wishes from us all.

    • Yeah, it shocks me that I am, Andrew. For years I just put the camera on the shelf for winter but now I face the winter without fear. C’mon winter…bring it on.

I hope all is progressing smoothly as the move approaches, Andrew. All the best to you and Shirley for the coming year. May you find a modest yet spectacularly affordable estate in the country.

  7. Ok, Ok … I’m in Switzerland. You dragged it out of me! Ran down to Lake Geneva to do the same yesterday morning … only to be disappointed. Got some nice shots of the inside of a cathedral in Lausanne though. Cool. Joanna finally dragged my sorry ass off the farm … not having a great time … and, not because this isn’t a beautiful place. Off toe Geneva today. D

    • Here’s hoping that you had a better time in Geneva, David. My friend tells me that Switzerland’s weather is very similar to ours in the northeast. If you get a chance to visit Basel, it is a beautiful city.

  8. Just got back from Florida. If I never see another palm tree— I have never been so glad to be back in chilly Chicago. Here’s to lots of abstract ice for you, and a wonderful 2015.

Lovely photo Steve and nice message as long as last night’s dream was a happy one…
We have ice – can we send you some? Snow last night and more tonight.
I have really enjoyed your posts again this year – although sometimes I can’t keep up with you and get behind in my reading!
May you and Mary-Beth have a healthy and fulfilling 2015.
Can you believe the turn of the millennium was 15 (or 14) years ago? Very scary.

    • Most of my dreams are, at the least, pleasant, Rod.

We finally got a good freeze and there is ice on most standing water and icicles forming over the flowing brooks and streams. Snow tonight, but it turns to rain after midnight.

Yeah, I think I probably post a little too much. I might ratchet back a little and spend more time trying to actually promote and sell.
Time passes so quickly. Funny how it speeds up as we age. I, as do most of us, remember so much from 40 and 50 years ago like it was yesterday….I just don’t remember yesterday so well any more.

All the very best for the coming year to you and Susan, Rod.
