Can’t tell … is that water slightly colored with tannins? If so, I wonder about the source? Might there be a wetland, bog, or swampy area up stream? Nice shot … as always. D

Most of the brooks around here have a strong dose of tannins. Lots of oaks. But you are correct about a wetland just a bit upstream where a powerline passes overhead.

Ah, I wish I had thought of that for the title.

I could, but I’ll just punish myself for my lack of imagination. Next time though….

Or a Female-strom? The water has a soft, smooth delicacy about it.

Deciding on the water’s texture is always a challenge, Andrew. I try several difference exposures to see what works. There is no set speed as the water’s flow dictates that.

If I ever need a photo to represent storm surge flowing over and back from a battered chunk of seawall, lthis would do quite well. It’s interesting how it captures the sheer force of nature with such delicacy. Still, just looking at it makes me nervous on a visceral level. Interesting.

Fortunately, this is on a fairly small scale…the water is only @8″ deep here. But on a larger scale this would indeed be dangerous with that motion probably having quite an undertow.
