06.11.2014 Selfie in a frog’s eye

While photographing Spirit Falls this morning, my friend and I noticed this bullfrog lollygagging near the edge of the stream.  It blended right in and we almost didn’t see him sitting there.Bullforg-2-Spirit-Falls-061114-600WebA most obliging chap, I was able to get quite close for a fairly candid look at his princely handsomeness. 🙂Bullfrog-Spirit-Falls-061114-600WebGetting this took a little doing as my feet were dangling in the waterfall, the camera was receiving a light shower and I was kneeling on a rocky, slippery slope.  Fun as all heck. Pretty soon the local lotus pond will be featuring a chorus of Rana’s greatest hits and the approach will be much easier.

And, if you are not able to see me in the above image, which is likely, here is a crop.  I don’t think I’ve ever looked better.Bullfrog-eye-with-selfie-061114-600Web

  1. Closer and closer the pictures get, until in the end I can say that now I see as through a glass, darkly.

two princes for the price of one! Were there any princesses about?
    Great shots

    • Always give ’em more for their money, I’ve heard it said, Rod.
There may have been, but we only saw Fergus. Actually, it is possible that Fergus is Princess Fergie…we aren’t sure. 🙂

Rod is spot on – two princes for the price of one! What an incredible photo. I have a burning question, did you kiss him? 😉

  5. Ah, to gaze into the eye of a frog, while dangling over a waterfall~ you sure know how to live! 🙂
