04.28.2014 Another sunstar

Although today is our 30th anniversary, I still got out of the house early for sunrise.  Mary Beth likes to stay in bed until a more civilized hour for rising, so off I went and she cuddled with my best friend.  Guess who! 🙂

There was not a cloud in the sky and I had little hope for anything spectacular, but tomorrow is back to work and the rest of the week is predicted for rain and overcast so I figured to make the best of it.  Things pretty much lived up to non-expectations although it was a nice start to the day.  I hope you enjoy this little bit of an understated beginning to Monday.  Better than work, that’s for sure. 🙂

Gate-5-sun-star-04282014-900WebI did check on a few flowers and still early.  The marsh marigolds that I visit each year are just forming their leaves and the trout lilies are forming buds but still a few days from being photogenic.  This weekend should be good.

Happy anniversary. A great start yo the day. You know that view is spectacular in its simplicity.

    • Thank you, Rod. This spot is quickly becoming my go-to for sunrises although if you look at the few I’ve posted you’ll notice that the sunrise is moving to the left which won’t help the reflection any. I may have to find another spot until the sun starts back in this direction. 🙂

    • Thank you, Lottie. We did have a very nice day. Some gardening, cleaning windows and the like. We don’t get too celebratory. But it was nice to get some chores done together. 🙂

      • I used to do the dishes, Lottie, but Mary Beth says I use too much water so she does them now. I liked doing them because it’s a good way to get my hands and nails clean….I work with furniture stains….but if she wants to do them there are other ways to clean hands. 😉

    • You’ve got to stop dying for these views, Pen. We need you around for a good long time. I hope you haven’t used up too many lives.:-) The Murph gets plenty of hugs…he’s just an adorable little guy but very needy…rough start to his life so we make sure he gets showered with affection. I am glad I caught this sunrise….we haven’t seen the sun in the am for a few days now and rain is in the forecast for the next several. Sure do hope it means lots of May flowers.

How many lives Steve? I hope endless number of same.. for as with everyone else on this Planet, I’d die of shock should I erm.. kick the bucket? … 😀 and rough start for Murphy? Extra hugs then over the airwaves…. and hate waves to whomsoever caused that start to his dear life… I get so, so mad for there are so many treated badly… Why? Dogs are so trusting, loveable and… Ooooo I just see red!!! I shall think of sweet things, like your future abundant flowers for May… x

      • I can’t even begin to express my feelings, Pen, towards the person who abused Murphy nor for anyone else who abuses an animal or person who gives themselves up in complete trust only to be “punished” for having that trust.
I know I’ve seen better clips, but here’s one for you, Pen. 🙂

  9. Happy anniversary. to you and Mary Beth and here’s wishing you many, many more wonderful years together. I think the sunburst in the scene is a sign of many “sun-like” days in your marriage in the years to come. I like how you centered the beam of light to the one large boulder in the foreground.

    • Thank you, Yvonne. We are indeed a happy couple. I’m glad you noticed the rock’s placement…it was intentional. Whether it is judged good art I am not sure, but I liked having the two attached. 🙂

I know I’m late but I did not miss on wishing you a happy anniversary elsewhere 🙂 30 years are a goal and I hope that we will reach it, too though it seems to be tough – we are only having our 14th anniversary this year!
I really like the symbolic character of this photo – a new day, a new sunrise, a new day with the love of your life! So sweet…

    • 16 years is not so much, Sandra. And as we get older they just go by that much quicker. I don’t know if that is a good thing…probably not…but I hope it encourages you that you will make it to 30 years…as I hope we make it to 46. 🙂
Yes, it was good fortune that this opportunity presented itself on this day, thanks.
