10.14.2011 Reservoir Reflection

For years I’ve driven past this spot in the Spring and hoped to photograph a nice reflection of the Mountain Laurels in flower on some serene water.  My timing hasn’t worked out for one reason or another.  But recently I passed this small reservoir on my way to a waterfall and noticed the nice colors in the corner  and, although it was a touch breezy, there was a nice reflection possible.

So I finally got my Reservoir Reflection even if it wasn’t my original vision.

Perfect. I’m aways interested in how, sometimes, putting the shoreline in the middle of the frame works so well. This is one of those times. Very evocative!

I love this image…I could look at it all day! Very good use of the reflection to create a very compelling image, Steve!

    • Thanks Greg. As I mentioned above…this was not on my radar at all until I drove by. I’m sure you have had a lot of similar experiences with these images presenting themselves.
      I’m glad you like it.
